Today was beautiful. I went down to the river with S to do homework. I worked on my art project for a couple hours and in that time probably half a dozen families brought their children and pets over to inquire about what I was drawing and to coo, "Oooh, isn't that pretty!" I didn't mind the attention, except for the fact that my drawing looked like it could have been done by a child or a pet. It just struck me... They were so interested and excited to see a person with some pencils and a brown portfolio. Living proof that there is something better in the world for their kids than fast food and video games.
And then it occured to me that I could make a killing doing caricatures out there on a sunny Sunday.
(...if I could learn how to do caricatures.)
The rest of the weekend, minus a few toasty sentiments which I care to not care for, has been equally fascinating. Evidence:http://www.angelfire.com/clone/friskin/killeralwayswalks.mov
THE KILLER ALWAYS WALKS.
It's pretty much the greatest movie ever created.
