My body

is like

ow.

But lets not dwell on the negative for the moment. Here is a list of things that I like: fancy lampshades, walking in the park, ballroom dancing, not-ballroom dancing, curbside picnics, shampoo, people in Burlington, the smell of new books, brown luggage, big plans, whispering secrets in your ear, making lists of things I like... Tomorrow is the first day of school! I feel like such a little kid every time this big event rolls around. Kind of shy, but unreasonably excited, and slightly nervous too. And every year I want to wear the new fall clothes, despite the fact that wool and cordoroy aren't very practical in eighty degree weather.

Ah, ha! But answer me this: WHEN have I EVER been practical in my life? Eh? That's what I thought....

It's been eight hours and it feels like eight weeks. This is bad. In a good way. Except not really.

Make a wish.

P.S. Three.
This week has been kind of hard. On Monday I was ready to stab myself in the face. I decided against it because a) A. was nice and came to visit me, and b) my mom almost cried when I told her. I figured it can probably wait until I'm a thousand miles away from here. Sure, it won't be as dramatic, but I'm not doing it for you. Or you.

Smiling too much can get a girl into trouble.

(Leave it to me to get PICKED UP in the damn BOAT SHOP FOR KIDS. By a man wearing a a Motley Crue t-shirt... and vaguely resembling Vince Neil:
)
(ALSO leave it to me to agree to go out with said man. To the GROCERY STORE. AND THEN GET STOOD UP.)

I'm having a time.

I had a roll of film developed today. There seems to be a theme of feeling tiny, or maybe just in awe of the world. Also notable is lack of any people. Here are some of my favorites:

Abandoned house, bull at Saratoga County Fair, fire tower on top of Blue Mountain, carpet's eye view of a dog paw. Respectively.
