Your online diary is not safe.
I am an unhealthy girl. Yes I am.
And sometimes my inefficiency shocks me.
I did finally finish the book tonight. I also took a nap, and then I painted my fingernails and immediately scratched all the nailpolish off. Thomas is back from overseas.
My favorite villain...
Oh, hey, no more high school. How about that.

Ithaka
by Constantine Cavafy
As you set out for Ithaka
hope the journey may be long,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,
angry Poseidon-- don't be afraid of them:
you'll neverĀ find things like that on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare excitement
stirs your spirit and your body.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,
wild Poseidon--you won't encounter them
unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you.
Hope your journey may be long.
May there be many a summer morning
when with what pleasure, what joy,
you enter harbors you're seeing for the first time;
may you buy fine things,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
sensual perfume of every kind--
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
and may you visit many Egyptian cities
to learn, and go on learning, from their scholars;
Keep Ithaka always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you're destined for.
But don't hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you're old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you've gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaka to make you rich.
Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey.
Without her you wouldn't have set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.
And if you find her poor, Ithaka won't have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
you'll have understood by then what these Ithakas mean.

So today I was on the deck reading comic books, minding my own business, when a bee or a wasp or some kind of evil stinging insect decided it would be nice to sting me right on top of my big toe! Naturally, I freaked and jumped into the pool. I sat there for a good ten minutes, all the way in up to my nose, watching a dozen of these things fly around me. It was scary!
Maybe you had to be there.
Alive at Five was good. I wandered around for a while trying to find Mike Twin, and just when I was about to give up and decide that I do hate boys after all and I should just move in with Steve and be done with it, there he was! It's funny how I always run into him when I least expect it...
Got home, made a couple calls.

Ugh. I could have cried.
ANYWAY....
I still have creepy stalker-ish tendencies sometimes. Especially when you look at me like that.
So, who wants to go to Alive at Five tomorrow (later today..) with me? Anyone?

Ninety-five dollars for playing with kids in other people's houses this weekend. Morals intact.
(Do you dare eat a peach?)
Only problem is that exhaustion and alarm clocks don't mix.
I should be in pictures.....
Speaking of which, I've been having the strangest dreams:
K. smoking a cigar.
Punching a boy in the jaw.
And the man who is secretly not-so-secretly in love with me.
I'll speak to him soon.

"What the crack?"
It takes a real friend to vandalize your car. A real friend, indeed. I'm going to miss you guys...
So I know everyone's wondering what I've been up to, as I've neglected this thing for nearly a month. I really do plan to write in it more often, if for no other reason than to so something almost productive with my time. When I'm not at "work," I'm spending fifteen hours of my day on the computer either doing nothing or chatting with a semi-stranger, semi-sweetheart.... and the rest eating and sleeping. Sometimes when I'm eating and sleeping I also watch movies that I watched a million times when I was younger. I guess I've been feeling a bit nostalgic.
I dug Mary Poppins out of her grave.
Oh, and Blogger added a bunch of neato features which I was gone. Leave me comments and I'll love you forever.
